After seventeen years in prison, the former respected Parisian banker Paul Lavond flees with his friend, the eccentric scientist Marcel, who is researching the miniaturization of animals and humans alongside his wife Malita, aiming to improve mankind's resources. Paul Lavond was framed for robbery by his treacherous associates Emil Coulvet, Charles Matin, and Victor Radin, who stole his business and left his family in disgrace, poverty, and tragedy. During their experiments, Marcel successfully miniaturizes the mentally challenged servant Lachna but discovers she becomes motionless, only responding to his brain control. The shock of this revelation causes Marcel to suffer a fatal heart attack. After Marcel's death, Paul Lavond sees an opportunity to use the miniaturization process as a tool for vengeance. Disguising himself as the kindly old doll shop owner Madame Mandilip—a persona adopted by the now-unhinged Malita—he travels to Paris. Under the guise of Madame Mandilip, Paul befriends his estranged and resentful daughter Lorraine Lavond, who remains unaware of his true identity. As he reconnects with her, he devises a meticulous plan to exact revenge on those who ruined his life while also seeking to restore his family's honor and clear his name. Through manipulation and the eerie power of miniaturization, Paul sets in motion a chilling scheme that blurs the line between justice and retribution.
