Luther Watts was traumatized as a child after witnessing a circus geek perform the brutal act of biting the heads off live chickens. This disturbing experience left a lasting mark on his psyche. After spending 20 years in prison, he is finally released on parole. Returning to his hometown, he begins terrorizing the community with erratic behavior—mimicking chicken noises, crowing like a rooster, and violently attacking unsuspecting victims. His descent into madness leads him to a remote farm owned by a woman and her daughter. Once there, Luther takes the two women captive, subjecting them to his unpredictable and menacing presence. As his violent impulses escalate, he starts targeting and murdering their neighbors one by one. The mother, realizing the grave danger they are in, understands that their only chance of survival is to escape before Luther turns his rage toward them. With time running out, she must find a way to outsmart the deranged killer and save herself and her daughter from his deadly grasp.
