Appraiser Rachel (Lindsey Shaw) receives the news that her top-notch client wants to buy out a small town's beloved library to build a resort and spa on the land. Rachel is completely against the idea of leaving NYC but loses the argument to her boss. Reluctantly, she packs her bags and flies out to California to assess the property. During her first visit to the library, she meets writer Jake (Derek Theler), who is researching the legend of Captain Black Bart's hidden treasures for his next novel. The spirited librarian, Mrs. Archer (Rachel Ticotin), hopes to save the library and encourages Jake to show Rachel how much the library means to the community. Jake already has his hands full with his research and looking after his niece Hailey (Chiara Aurelia) and nephew Noah (Max Page) for the summer, but he agrees to help. As Rachel spends more time in town, she begins to see the library’s true value—not just as a building, but as a heartwarming hub for learning, connection, and local history. Meanwhile, Jake’s treasure hunt leads them on an unexpected adventure, uncovering clues that might hold the key to saving the library. With time running out, Rachel must find a way to protect the beloved landmark before it’s demolished. Along the way, she discovers new friendships, a sense of belonging, and perhaps even love in the most unexpected place.
